Notice about Alcohol at the Club

Under the Dufferin Club's agreement with the City of Brantford, alcohol is not permitted on the premises without a special occasions permit from the LCBO, permission from the City and the presence of a representative from the City of Brantford or Dufferin Club of Brantford Board of Directors. Should these and additional requirements be met, alcohol can only to be consumed inside the clubhouse and not in public areas. The board appreciates everyone's cooperation with adhering to these rules.

Rules and Regulations

Players must wear proper clothes and closed-toe shoes. All players must wear a shirt during play. Tennis players must wear non-marking shoes; dark soled shoes should be avoided. Sandals, blue jeans, cut offs and street clothes are not permitted.

Players must be courteous and attentive to other players at all times.

Players may use any open court if the courts are not being used. 

Court time is limited to one hour when other members are waiting.

Tournaments, round robins and junior camps take priority over walk-on members and tennis lessons.

High school classes use some of the courts during weekdays in May, June, September and October.  Nevertheless, court space will always be available for members.

During non-busy evening hours, players are asked to play on one set of 3-courts to conserve energy use for lighting the other set.

Juniors and guests under 14 have full booking privileges daily to 6 pm.  Adult members have priority in the evenings.

Smoking is not permitted in the clubhouse, and no member, guest or employee shall bring into the clubhouse any beer, wine, or spirits, nor shall he or she consume any beer, wine, or spirits in the clubhouse or on the grounds except as authorized by law for licensed events.

The Dufferin Club Staff and Directors are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Participation in any recreational sports activity is voluntary. Individuals who participate in recreational sports do so at their own risk.

In no event will The Dufferin Club of Brantford its Directors, staff, volunteers and/or representatives that operate the Dufferin Club be held liable to any party for any direct, indirect, exemplary, incidental, punitive, special or other consequential damages arising out of the use of the club site, personal injury or injury to a child or any other pecuniary loss.

Unacceptable conduct may result in suspension of club privileges.
